Merry Christmas

Our Christmas issue is our biggest seller of the year and we always have so much fun putting it all together. To make sure this year’s issue was just what you wanted, editorial director Shelley asked our research team to canvass you guys on how you feel about Christmas and what you’d love to see in YH&G to help you prepare for this super-busy time. Unsurprisingly, the most common response was that December is often a blur of juggling family, friends and work commitments, and while you want your home to look beautiful for the festive season, you’re fed up with all the dollars disappearing from your bank account at lightning speed.

We hear you! Our mission for this issue was to provide beautiful eye candy to get you in the festive spirit, alongside heaps of clever money and time-saving ideas to help you achieve the look your heart desires, at a fraction of the cost. Big shout-out to our amazing Queen of Christmas stylist Vanessa Nouwens, who started planning for this issue back in September! Her quick and stylish creations are sprinkled all through these pages and will have your head swimming with festive possibilities. A favourite feature of mine is where readers and their kids share what they love most about this time of year (page 50). It got the whole team talking about our own treasured family traditions and serves as a reminder that Christmas really is all about making happy memories – let’s make this year’s one to remember!

On a more personal note, this is an extra-special issue for me because it’s my first as editor. I’m very much looking forward to bringing you plenty of wonderful homes, gorgeous gardens and inspiring content in 2018 and I hope you and yours have the most amazing and well-deserved break.
