HOW TO BE A WRAP STAR

-

> Decide on a theme – we chose ‘fresh and fruity’, which meant bright sorbet colours and pops of fresh cherry red. If you’re wrapping with friends, try all following the same theme – you’ll have fun coming up with your own twist on it.

> Assemble everything you need beforehand and make sure you have enough of all your supplies so you don’t run out of tape at the last minute. Store everything in a large plastic bin long enough to hold rolls of paper so it’s easy to find everything when Christmas arrives next year.

> Use double-sided tape instead of ordinary sellotape to create neater folds and edges.

> Use foliage and natural elements – tuck a leafy frond, a fragrant flower or sprig of berries into your ribbon or gift wrap for a touch of freshness.

> Create your own tags – the personal touch is everything at Christmastime, and by making your own tags using simple cardboard, stamps, stickers and a bit of ingenuity, you’ll make your gift recipients feel extra-special. Plus it makes life easy when it’s time to dish out the presents.

> Make an occasion of it! Whether you’re wrapping alone or with family, get into the festive spirit with some special drinks, snacks and music. Enjoy the process and take a few photos as you go – it’s easy to rush these moments but they’re often worth savouring just as much as Christmas Day itself.
