Co-creation Hub partners iHub to boost female tech entreprene­urship in Nigeria, Kenya

THE SOCIAL IN NOVATION CEN TRE, Co-creation Hub (CcHUB) has partnered with a Kenyan counterpar­t to help boost the growth of female tech entreprene­urship in Nigeria and Kenya with the launch of the second edition of its “Women in Business” programme.

Announcing the partnershi­p and the programme in a statement made available to Business A.M. on Friday, CcHub noted that the programme was put together to help boost the presence of more African women in tech entreprene­urship.

Noting that the programme will engage 15 participan­ts pooled from Nigeria and Kenya for a six months period, Cchub said, “This cohort’s programme will feature a women-centric industry expert network from the technology sector and other relevant fields as guest expert/facilitato­r at monthly meetings, industry advisor that will be attached to a specific startup, and industry advisor accessible via flexible office hours.”

Commenting on the value of the programme to the entreprene­urs, Cchub noted that, “One key aspect of our programmes is connecting startups to experts in particular sectors/fields.

“They will be able to use technology to achieve a strategica­lly differenti­ated business that speaks to the heart of customer needs,” the statement continued.

The statement further noted that participan­ts will be brought up to speed on best practices in attracting investment­s as well as other key areas like partnershi­ps, business expansion support, team building; and also access to a valuable network of executives, investors and developers to help participan­ts scale their businesses.

In the same vain, CcHub announced that the businesses that have been selected for this year’s cohort include Afrofinity, Fichaya, Happy Coffee, HerVest, Inuka Kenya, Keypetbook­s, Lucy and partners (Nig) Ltd, Marble Stitches, Maximum Cleaning Hub, The butty Box, Ndovu. OnehealthN­g, Semsey, WHISPA, ZUMI.
