2021 Mutual Funds Outlook and Awards Nominees
BUSI NESS A.M. IS PLEASED to announce the nominees for its 2021 Mutual Funds Outlook and Awards. The awards will recognize and celebrate portfolio managers, asset management firms, and up-and-coming managers who demonstrate excellent investment skills in adding the most value to investors through their consistent risk-adjusted-performance.
The shortlist of nominees was chosen after extensive research by judges and the research team, including reviewing data from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Nigeria and taking soundings from third-party industry experts. Our judging criteria are based on the following and more:
• Strong performance of funds in the year 2020, relative to funds in the same asset class (Using Harry Markowitz model)
• Having a competitive expense ratio
• Value of assets under management ( for some award categories)
• Having marketing materials that are accountable to the interests of individual investors displayed on companies’ websites
A list of the winners of the award program will be revealed during our forthcoming virtual conference on ‘2021 Mutual Funds Outlook and Awards’ and also published in the postevent supplement that would be published in the newspaper.
Separately, as part of the celebrations, we will also hold a live panel where industry experts will discuss “2021 Outlook of Fund Management”
