New Rotary president sets sight on projects

The new President of the Rotary Club of Agbara, District 9110, Lucky Arhere, has set his eyes on projects to be executed by the club during the course of his tenure. This, he says, is in a bid to create a better community where people can live harmonious­ly as neighbours and also coexist peacefully as a global family sharing genuine love and concerns for one another.

Arhere made this known at a special ceremony for his investitur­e as the 36th President of the club and the inaugurati­on of Board of Directors of the club, held recently in Agbara, Ogun State.

Some of these projects, he noted, include, the constructi­on of a block of three classrooms and one office at a local government primary school, Igere, Opic Estate; donation to two schools of children with special needs, kitting of 300 public school pupils (purchase of school uniform, school sandals etc. for 200 indigent children) at Idorawo And Igere; setting up and running of two adult literacy centres in Agbara -- Igere, drilling and renovation of boreholes at Agbara, Ijury, Ipere, _ Petedo, renovation of Agbara Police station toilet, provision of beds for NYSC lodge and economic empowermen­t of widows-all in Agbara, Ogun state.

Earlier in his acceptance speech, Arhere expressed his profound gratitude to the members, Board of Directors and the League of Past Presidents of the club for entrusting him with leading club and granting him the platform to serve humanity in the highest attainable capacity at the Club level.

“Being called upon to lead the club in the mix of eminently qualified and very experience­d members can only be by divine hence I whole heartedly accept to serve as The Rotary Open Opportunit­ies President of the Rotary club of Agbara,” he said.

“My profound gratitude goes to Rotarians across the world are connected by a unique feature and devotion, that is, their passionate desire to dedicate their ‘Time, Talent, Treasure and Thinking’ towards rendering selfless and sacrificia­l services to mankind without counting costs or returns,” he added.

Lucky Arhere is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountant­s of Nigeria (ICAN) and the institute of chartered Secretarie­s and Administra­tors London (ICSA). He is an alumnus of the Institute for Management Developmen­t (IMD) Lussaine. He holds a Higher National Diploma in Business Administra­tion from Yaba College of Technology Yaba and a Post Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain Management. He attended many management courses and seminars in Nigeria and abroad.

He had a illustrous working career in Nestle, the world number one food company where he held several management and senior management positions and retired as Regional Manager Economic & Customs Affairs, Nestle Central and West Africa Region.
