- MODESTUS ANAESORONYE

The insurance industry landscape is changing with a lot of disruptions coming from Fin te ch’ s who are not just innovating cheaper products, but also providing easy ways to deliver insurance, as they have done in other areas of the financial services market.

This development is engaging the concern of not only players who will face competition, but also regulators who have the responsibility to protect the consumers in their space.

In this vein, the theme: ‘Fintech and the Future of Insurance’, has been slated for discussion at the 20th Memorial lecture of Adetunji Akanji Ogunkanmi Foundation.

The Adetunji Akanji Ogunkanmi Foundation (AOF) is holding the 20th memorial lecture in honour of the late insurance wizkid who passed on November 5, 2000. He would have been 60 years on December 5, 2020.

The foundation established by family, ex-staff, friends and colleagues shortly after Ogunkanmi’s painful and untimely passage, is aimed at preserving his legacies especially in the insurance sector.

Fintech and the Future of Insurance is scheduled to hold virtually on Tuesday December 8, 2020 from 11am to 1pm.

The guest speaker for the lecture is a bosom friend of the late Ogunkanmi, foremost Fintech Entrepreneur & Founder of Systemspecs Limited, John Obaro, while the chairman of the lecture is erstwhile deputy governor of Central Bank, Tunde Lemo and current chairman of FERMA.
