Two Weeks In Lagos records impressive opening weekend

-

After an impressive opening weekend debut at cinemas across the country, Nigerians across board have nothing but praise for the movie Two Weeks In Lagos as the movie got up to a flying start at cinemas across the land.

The movie, which features the likes of Mawuli Gavor, Toyin Abraham, Beverly Naya, Joke Silva, Deyemi Okanlawon, Prince Jide Kosoko, Tina Mba, Shaffy Bello, Okey Uzoeshi, Steve Onu among others, has spent barely a week at the cinema and has posted impressive numbers at the box office.

The movie, an original love story, talks about a young man who has his eyes on the lady he wants to marry but has to contend with his parents as they have other ideas of a bride for him. He is torn in between working towards marrying the bride his way or having to seek the will of God concerning her.

Two Weeks In Lagos has also been tipped by industry watchers to pull more impressive numbers at the cinema judging by its picture quality, the way the cast of the movie collectively interpreted their respective roles and the quality of the lens used in shooting the amazing story of love.

Of course, it is not every time you get to see Mawuli Gavor and Beverly Naya on the same set playing out a love story like this one, and this is another reason movie watchers want to see the twist in the beautiful story of love from the stable of Kathryn Fasegha.

Speaking of the progress made so far by the movie at the cinema, Deyemi Okanlawon, one of the star actors in the movie, said, ‘’Quite frankly, this is a movie people have to see. It is a movie I know they would like and would love to see again and again. The stars that took part in this movie absolutely gave it their all. I must say that I enjoyed working with people like Mawuli Gavor, Toyin Abraham, Beverly Naya, Shaffy Bello and others. These actors, no doubt, brought out another side of me as far as acting on that particular set is concerned. If I am asked to do this movie again, I would not hesitate doing it over and over again with this crop of actors’’.

As the movie enters its second week at the cinema, only time will tell if the love story would eventually emerge as the highest grossing movie of 2021.
