At Elvaridah, they are certain that there are a lot of successful businesses which never kicked off, or do not stand the test of time because they are not stirred up in the right direction, built on the right strategies or implemented by the right people.

On why many Nigerian businesses do not survive beyond a decade, she says it is important to understand your business and its terrain in details. Data is an important factor and she explains why.

For her, you cannot make effective or lasting decisions with information that is not telling you a story about the market and your customers.

She insists that if you are not yet using data the right way, then you better do because this is the future of success in business. “Even social networks like Instagram and Facebook introduced data to their platforms; because they know as a business in this century, if you are not working with data, you are not working yet.” She said.

“Owning and starting a business is great and I strongly believe that until we start building businesses that can stand the test of time in Nigeria, our growth might not be as swift as we expect it to be.” Nkechi stated.
