Plateau United goalkeeper, John Gaadi is returning to the Nest of Champions in Uyo to fight against his former club, Akwa United in week 8 of the NPFL with nothing but victory on his mind.

Table topping Plateau United are hoping to extend their unbeaten run and the highly experienced goalkeeper has vowed to keep another clean sheet for his club.

Gaadi who attributed his team’s fine run to determination and team work said Akwa United should expect a tough match against Plateau United.

He disclosed that the government of Plateau State and a popular football agent based in Jos usually pay huge winning bonuses to the team and that is one of the secrets behind the team’s success.

Although he did not disclose what the agent usually pays, he said anytime they get an away win or draw, the money is immediately transferred into the account of their captain for onward distribution to the players.

He, therefore, said against Akwa United they will fight hard to get their second away win of the season.

“We are expecting a tough match at Akwa United but I am personally motivated to fight for the three points because I have a point to prove against them.

“Although I worked for them before, I am now with Plateau United so my loyalty is to my new club.

“Our target is to pick our second away win in Uyo and I think this is not an impossible task. We have the necessary motivation to do this.

“As of now, we are among the best motivated teams in the league. The government is fully behind us and an agent who is a leading supporter of the club pays us bonuses for away win or draw. He pays immediately and this is good for team spirit,” he said.

Gaadi had kept goal for top clubs like Enugu Rangers, Katsina United, Gombe United, Wikki Tourists, Jigawa Golden Stars, Lobi Stars, Sunshine Stars, Akwa United and Abia Warriors.
