- Hameed Oyegbade, Osogbo Abbas Jimoh

The Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria (SCSN), Sheik Abdur’Rasheed Adiyatulahi has said that northerners are very safe in any part of Yorubaland as he condemned the Ile-Ife mayhem.

Adiyatulahi said this at a press conference in Osogbo, capital of Osun State where he lamented that there was no justification for the devastating incident that occurred in Ile-Ife last week. He condemned the killing of innocents, and urged the citizenry to live in harmony regardless of ethnic or religious background.

According to him, “the Supreme Council for Sharia in Southwest is deeply saddened by the crisis that rocked IleIfe and we strongly condemn the killing of innocent people and the wanton destruction of property.”

“We would like to assure our brothers from the North The National Coalition for Peace and Development (NCPD), an All Progressives Party (APC) women group, has cautioned Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, to stop further attacks on President Muhammadu Buhari that they are safe in any part of Yorubaland. We also call on security agencies to buckle up in their investigation and prosecute the culprits”.

Adiyatulahi commended the efforts of the state government which prevented the matter from degenerating further. He also lauded the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi for his peace moves since he ascended the throne, and pleaded with him to guard against recurrence of bloodletting in his domain. warning that such unguarded and frivolous utterances was unbecoming of a sitting governor.

Leader of the group, Hajiya Hauwa Bagu Dbell, who gave the caution yesterday in Abuja, condemned the governor for his habitual and unbridle molesting of President Buhari for no just cause.

She, however, urged all persons of goodwill to disregard the impulsive comments of Governor Fayose who obviously has a habit of throwing caution to the wind whenever he makes it his calling to cast aspersions against the President.
