Kicking off!

-

This weekend is a big one for football fans across the world as the most followed league in Europe, the English Premier League resumes. Although the curtain raiser was staged yesterday between Arsenal and Leicester City, all eyes will be on the defending champions Chelsea who entertain Burnley at the Stamford Bridge.

What we have decided to done in our cover story is to look at how the six Super Eagles stars, Ahmed Musa, kelechi Iheanacho, Victor Moses, Isaac Success, Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi are expected to perform in their respective clubs in this season’s EPL.

Our interview this week is with no less a personality than the Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr who spoke to us on the chances of the CHAN Eagles against the Squirrels of Benin Republic on Sunday.

More importantly, he expressed confidence that the Super Eagles will top the double header against Cameroon to clinch the ticket to Russia 2018 World Cup.

And as expected, David Billington’s column is very much on ground and steaming with hot and juicy stories that will keep you informed and entertained. He gives you almost everything you need to know about players’ transfers and what to expect from the clubs as the new season begins.

Away from football, it is no longer news that former world number one, Serena Williams is on maternity leave. What is however news is the sincere comment emanating from legendary Kim Clijsters that she will find it tough whenever she wants to stage a comeback to the sport.

We rounded up this package with a look at the top African super stars that are tipped to excel in their clubs this season.
