Firm launches data application to boost healthcare
The Africa Artificial Intelligence Blockchain for Healthcare Initiative of the United Statesbased Insilico Medicine organization will soon launch an application to help monetize their data and transform the healthcare system. Briefing newsmen in Abuja, a scientist with the organization, Mr Iraneus Ogu said the application, Longenesis, was aimed at enabling individuals A former Minister of Information and National Secretary of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Mr Labaran Maku, has donated food items to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Speaking during the donation yesterday, Maku sympathized with IDPs over the unfortunate situation that befell them and their communities.
According to him, “if nothing is done to find a lasting solution to this reoccurring attacks, it would lead to food crisis because these are the areas that supply food to The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, has warned against stigmatizing returnees from Libya as they reunite with their families in various states across the country. In a press release from the ministry, Prof. Adewole issued the warning during a stakeholders’ meeting held at the returnees’ camp in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
He advised the public not to condemn the returnees for their mistakes which he said was caused by ignorance, adding that stakeholders should ensure that Itodo Daniel Sule, Lokoja A non-governmental organization, Supernatural Encounter Mission Outreach has donated food items worth thousands of naira to over 30 widows and less privileged persons in Kogi State.
Founder of the NGO, Pastor (Mrs) Bolanle Ajibade, said the gesture was aimed at alleviating the sufferings of the widows. have greater control over the use of their data including medical data. He said before now, people had little or no knowledge on the potential use of their personal data, or that data may be used without their knowledge and consent, and with them gaining little or nothing in return. Ogu added that Longenesis enables people receive some benefits from some of the data they generate and also control how the data is used and by who.

Also, a member representing Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Architect Jaafaru Ibrahim, has donated relief materials to IDPs camps in Awe and Keana local government areas of Nasarawa State affected by recent herders, farmers crisis in Benue State.
Ibrahim, who was represented by Mustapha Galadima, Chairman, Contact Mobilization Committee of his campaign organisation, said the gesture was to complement the efforts already made by the local authorities, the state and federal governments.

The minister urged the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Federal Ministry of Health, the Red Cross Society, Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Police Force, and National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) to enlighten members of the public on happenings around the world to forestall similar occurrence.

Also speaking, Rev John Ajewole charged Christians and other wellto-do individuals in the society to show love and care to the needy, especially widows.
Amongst the items donated were rice, beans, semovita, spaghetti, noodles and vegetable oil.
