Zenke confident Nasarawa Utd will take off against Sunshine

- By David Ngobua

Despite their poor start to the season, Nasarawa United attacking winger Thomas Zenke is confident the ‘solid miners’ will get off the blocks beginning from their match against Sunshine Stars.

Having lost two out of two matches in the ongoing NPFL season, Nasarawa United are presently without a point.

The other clubs that are yet to pick a point are Kwara United and Enugu Rangers who have suffered similar fate with Nasarawa United.

In a chat with Daily Trust on Saturday, the member of the Home-based Eagles said it was unfortunate that Nasarawa United did not start their campaign on a promising note.

He attributed the lacklustre outing of the ‘solid miners’ to hard luck as he said the team did not play badly in its two matches.

Zenke however said against the ‘Akure Gunners’ it will be a different story as the players have collectively agreed to make amends.

“It is unfortunate that we have fallen behind so early in the day. This is football so we are not too disappointed.

“Although we have lost back to back, it does not mean we played too badly. Luck simply deserted us when we needed it most.

“We are not going to cry over spilled milk. Our match against Sunshine Stars is an opportunity for us to atone for our defeats.

“I want our fans to be a bit patient and see what we shall do beginning from this weekend,” he pleaded.
