The 2018 Commonweal­th Games will commence on Wednesday April 4 in Queensland Australia with Team Nigeria joining other former British colonies to vie for honours in different sporting events.

Nigeria’s best performaan­ce in the Games came in 1994 in Canada where the country won a total of 37 medals.

At the last edition in Glasgow, Team Nigeria placed 8th and are expected to improve on their last outing.

As expected, Commonweal­th Games double sprint champion, Blessing Okagbare-Ighoteguon­or and table tennis star, Aruna Quadri will lead Team Nigeria’s aspiration­s at the Games.
