Why Ganduje is witch-hunting me – Bibi Farouk
A former Kano State Commissioner of Lands, Alhaji Farouk Bibi Farouk, yesterday alleged that his arraignment was planned to witchhunt him for refusing to be part of a planned crisis within the state All Progressives Congress (APC).
Farouk spoke with newsmen after a High Court sitting in Kano halted a case proceeding involving him and two others pending the outcome of an appeal made at the Kaduna Court of Appeal.
According to him, the Kano State government under Governor Abdullahi Ganduje wanted to humiliate him for standing for the truth and integrity.
He added that no amount of torment and threat would make him part of a certain political character.
“We will fight this battle legally and politically, we have started seeing the signs of victory today with the court decision. Moreover, I am writing a book which I hope to publish soon on my sojourn in the present Kano State administration,” he said.
His counsel, Barrister Sa’id Muhammad Tudun Wada, told Daily Trust that they had filed an appeal in Kaduna seeking interpretation to the accusation against his client.
Reacting to the allegation, Malam Abba Anwar, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ganduje, said the claims were baseless and defended.
He asked why Farouk waited for so long to raise the issue if what he was saying was anything to go by.
“He is only searching for defence and excuses, which the government believes he hasn’t. Let him tender evidence, not just clueless insinuations. I would advise him to face his charges rather than making such baseless claims,” he said. could not be
