For relaxing after work evenings, here are five television series from inside Nigeria to keep you glued to your screen.

Castle & Castle

It was launched last Sunday and is Africa’s first legal series. The series, Castle & Castle stars Nollywood a-listers like Richard Mofe Damijo and Dakore Egbuson-Akande. The central characters of the story are Tega and his wife, Remi Castle, who met 20 years earlier and run a successful practice in Lagos. Family issues put their marriage to the test and also rattle their careers. While they unite against the storm and fight with one another when personal desires clash, will their union survive the hurdles?

Fifty

If you remember Glamour Girls from 1994, this could be considered a recent edition of that but with different characters - Omoni Oboli, Ireti Doyle, Dakore Egbuson-Akande and Nse Ikpe-Etim. The series is based the many untouched stories that lingered at the end of the movie, ‘Fifty’ and the relationsh­ips that existed between the cast. It is set in Lagos and chronicles the lives of four formidable women (Tola, Elizabeth, Kate and Maria) who are forced to take mid-life inventorie­s, as ambition and betrayal threaten their relationsh­ips.

Dérè

F or fairy tale buffs, Dérè, the African version of the famous Cinderella story is something to indulge in. This is the story of the happy life of a young lady who suddenly encounters a turn of unpredicta­ble events that shape her life forever and lead her to finding true love.

Saints & Sinners

S aints & Sinners is one of the latest from Ebony Life TV and is based on a Southern Baptist church and its surroundin­g community entrenched in a world of crime, lust, deceit, and greed.
