Peaceful voting in Ebonyi – Chairman
The Ebonyi State APC Chairman, Hon. Nwachukwu Eze, told Daily Trust that voting went on peacefully in the state yesterday.
Eze who expressed confidence in President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, maintained that he remained the state’s only choice for the 2019 presidential election.
“I must tell you that the exercise is very peaceful, there is no security challenge anywhere in the wards,” he said.
But our correspondent who was at the party headquarters along Abakaliki-Afikpo highway observed that some governorship aspirants were in a meeting with stakeholders of the state to harmonise ahead of Sunday’s guber primaries. He did not notice any voting.
Ogun adopts voice vote
Voice vote was adopted for the APC presidential primary across wards in Ogun State, as monitored by our correspondent yesterday. The exercise was largely peaceful with massive turnout of party members.
At Ward 13, Igbore-Agoba in Abeokuta South Local Government, hundreds of party members were asked to affirm the sole presidential aspirant, President Muhammadu Buhari, through a voice vote. Similar scenario played out at Ward 12 and Ward 6, both in Abeokuta South Local Government.
At Ibara orile Ward 16 Abeokuta North Local Government, however, Option A4 was adopted by the party executive.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the exercise at Ward 13, Igbore - Agoba, a former state governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba, described the exercise as peaceful and orderly.
