Kwankwaso: Ganduje will regret at tenure end
Former Kano State governor, Senator Rabiú Musa Kwankwaso, says Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and his allies would regret at the end of their second tenure.
Speaking on a radio programe monitored in Kano yesterday, he said the current administration in Kano State is being run on deception and falsehood which he said would make the governor to regret at the end.
“They will definitely regret at the end of their tenure, they will be saying ‘had we known, we would have handed over to the winner in 2019,” Kwankwaso said.
He added that the recent allegations against him by Ganduje were mere falsehood, lacked credibility and substance as they were contrary to the governor’s initial confession. He stressed that the governor’s contradictory utterances over the years had placed the Kwankwasiyya movement in an advantageous position for people to understand the falsehood aimed at tarnishing its good image.
Reacting to Ganduje’s allegation that he was planning to return to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest for presidency in 2023, Kwankwaso said everything was in the open, and if anyone wanted him to be in the party, it was that person’s opinion.
“In politics, it is not a surprising thing to see us in the same party someday, but the truth is, I am contented and living in peace. We haven’t done anything wrong to them and if we did, I know they would have said it since. What they are presently saying is so laughable to the public and it makes the public an avenue to give them derogatory names, which is so sad,” he said.
Kwankwaso further stated that the Supreme Court’s verdict would be a blessing for the Kwankwasiyya movement as many people had sympathized with them on the injustice done to them.
According to him, as a true politician, he wanted those against him to succeed, but that the irony is that they are all trending in the wrong direction of deceptive governance and vendetta which he said would only make them more unpopular every day.
