Degree is beyond the piece of paper

-

In a populated world and especially in developing countries; there is an assertion that a degree is just a piece of paper due to the fact that most of the countries are not capable of employing all the graduates.

A degree is often perceived as a ticket to secure a job or a status symbol. However, it is high time we recognised that a degree is much more than that. It is an investment in personal growth, a gateway to critical thinking, and a catalyst for societal progress.

A degree is a course of study in a college or university or the qualification given to a student after he or she has completed his or her studies. It usually takes four years, and for some courses, it can take up to six years before completion after rigorous reading, assignments and projects.

Through the process, a person can be well trained and educated in the area in which he or she wants to specialize, whether to be a medical doctor, engineer, teacher, pharmacist, economist, or journalist, among others.

However, getting a bachelor’s degree can enhance your access to job opportunities, expose you to new ideas, and boost your earning potential. You can see the world within a broader context and learn some critical strategies that will lead you to success. For that reason, I can say that a degree is not just a piece of paper; rather, it is a ladder that will help you claim success.
