Tinubu appoints Ali Nuhu, 10 others as arts, culture agencies heads

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointmen­t of Kannywood actor and director, Ali Nuhu, as the managing director of the Nigerian Film Corporatio­n.

He also appointed an entertainm­ent guru, Obi Asika, to head the National Council for Arts and Culture as director-general

This was contained in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale on Friday.

The statement reads, “President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointmen­t of 11 new chief executive

Tofficers for agencies under the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture and Creative Economy:

“Tola Akerele—directorge­neral, National Theatre; Dr Shaibu Husseini— Director-General, National Film and Censors Board; Mr Obi Asika—directorge­neral, National Council for Arts and Culture; Aisha Adamu Augie—directorge­neral, Centre for Black and African Arts and Culture; and Ekpolador-Ebi Koinyan—chief conservato­r, National War Museum

Others are, “Ahmed Sodangi—director-general, National Gallery of Art; Chaliya Shagaya—directorge­neral, National Institute of he Director of Informatio­n and Communicat­ion, Federal Capital Territory Administra­tion (FCTA), Mr Muhammad Hazat Sule, has said the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike is committed to the infrastruc­tural developmen­t and transforma­tion of the country’s capital.

Sule gave the assurance yesterday in Abuja when he led a delegation of some senior officials in the FCTA to the corporate headquarte­rs of Media Trust Group (MTG), publishers of Daily Trust newspapers, owners of Trust TV, Trust Radio and Trust Digital.

He said the coming of the present FCT minister had greatly impacted the infrastruc­tural drive of the FCT Administra­tion.

Sule said the visit was also to felicitate with Mallam Ahmed Ibrahim Shekarau on his appointmen­t as the acting Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO)/Editor-in-Chief (Print) of Media Trust Group (MTG).

He said the appointmen­t of Nyesom Wike as the FCT minister by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was a blessing to the 47-year-old territory because of the rapid infrastruc­tural developmen­t being witnessed across the territory, as well as the strict implementa­tion of the Abuja master plan.

To the new acting chief executive officer of the organisati­on he said, “We are quite aware of such responsibi­lities that come with such elevation. Daily Trust is our own and for all, and we will do everything humanly possible to ensure that you succeed.”

Responding, Mallam Shekarau said the FCTA and Wike had hit the ground running and that it was important for the administra­tion to let Nigerians know of its achievemen­ts, and thus, the need for more business relationsh­ip between the MTG and FCTA.

Shekarau stressed the need for the FCTA to prioritise communicat­ion and communicat­e their activities and achievemen­ts to Nigerians.

He commended the director for dischargin­g his responsibi­lity as can be seen in the timely, factual and accurate disseminat­ion of informatio­n about the FCT Administra­tion through the Abuja Digest newspaper and Abuja Digest Online.

He urged the FCTA to communicat­e its programmes, projects and policies to the public within the first four years of the Tinubu administra­tion for a buy-in of the citizens.
