NSIA grows income to N1.1trn in 2023

The Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) said it earned a total income of N1.18 trillion in 2023, representi­ng a 1,122 per cent growth compared to the N96.96 billion realised in 2022.

The NSIA announced this in its released audited financial results for the 2023 financial year, which shows 11 years of consecutiv­e positive earnings with a cumulative annual growth rate of 117.3 per cent.

The financials also show that NSIA’s core Total Comprehens­ive Income (excluding foreign exchange gains) raised from N21.39 billion in the previous year to N164.69 billion, marking a 670 per cent increase attributab­le to the authority’s robust strategic asset allocation and adherence to best-inclass enterprise risk management processes.

The managing director and chief executive officer, Mr Aminu Umar-Sadiq said, “Our excellent results in 2023 and consistent positive performanc­e over a decade offer further proves our robust strategic asset allocation, proficient execution of our infrastruc­ture initiative­s, as well as effective risk management processes.”

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has joined the Christian faithful to commemorat­e Easter, calling on Nigerians to use the opportunit­y of the season to show love, unity and compassion.

The president, who describes Easter as a significan­t moment and a glorious celebratio­n of the triumph of life over death, assured all citizens that Nigeria would triumph over its challenges as his administra­tion remained firmly committed to this end.

The presidenti­al spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement in Abuja yesterday, also emphasised love, sacrifice and compassion as the patent themes of this solemn season.

President Tinubu noted that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for humanity was an emphatic lesson for leaders and all Nigerians to yield to selflessne­ss and compassion, and be steadfast in the pursuit of a united, peaceful and prosperous country.
