What Pro-Biafrans Don’t Know About War - 95-year-old WW2 Veteran

-

Agitating for the Republic of Biafra is not a call to war. Biafra does not in any way signify war. It is rather a call for recognition of fundamental human rights. The Biafra people have the right to choose where they want to be. Sir, you cannot deny people their right, force them to abandon their identity and expect them to keep quiet. The solution is simple; organise a peaceful referendum to determine the fate of Biafrans. Udo Chris, udo.chris28@yahoo.fr

IPOB , MASSOB and entire easterners are not calling for war; they are demanding selfdetermination which is lawful. Self determination is not new in the world and Nigeria cannot stop it. Uzo, ekulide2006@gmail.com

Who is talking about war? Peaceful separation is achievable. All we want is to be allowed to determine our destiny. Edeki Suku, nozie4413@ yahoo.com

Perpetual marginalization of the South-South and SouthEast will continue to result in separatists’ moves. Why can’t we end cheating? Naija_Conscience, ahmedibrahim279@yahoo.com

Biafra isn’t about war; it is about our right. We don’t have the same value system, culture or religious beliefs with other parts of the country. Pishon Lordking

I fought the Nigeria/Biafra war on the Biafran side and I can authoritatively say that the war was not a piece of cake for Nigeria. There were heavy casualties on both sides, in men and materials. It was not only the Biafrans that suffered in that war; Nigerians suffered heavy casualties too. So the young Biafrans should not because of war threat keep quiet in the face of marginalization. You cannot slap a child and expect him or her not to cry. Nigeria belongs to everyone and that sense of belonging must be given to avoid separatist tendencies. Onyenwere Ukeje

They are not calling for war, only asking for justice. Mekason O George

Must there be war because some people said they don’t want to remain in Nigeria? How does that translate into war? Chidi Greatson Nze We only want selfdetermination not war. Ifeanyi Uwadiegwu
