Players will respect Siasia’s final decision – Usman

Dream Team midfielder Mohammed Usman says the players will respect whatever decision manager Samson Siasia takes in the wake of reports that the coach plans to drop many of the stars that participated at the Suwon International Tournament in Korea.

In a chat with Fever Pitch yesterday, the Portugal based star added that he’s not thinking too much about being dropped as he already has hold of his United States of America visa for the Atlanta camp which begins next week.

“The coach’ decision is final and all the players will respect it but all I can say is that he was with us in Korea and saw what happened so it’s up to him to decide.” The player said regarding rumours of a massive clear out in the team.

According to Africanfootball.com Siasia plans a massive overhaul of Nigeria U23s less than two months to the Rio Olympics going by the several new faces who attended the US visa interview ahead of a training camp in Atlanta.

Nigeria internationals Kingsley Madu, Moses Simon, Daniel Akpeyi and Wilfred Ndidi are set to force their way to the Dream Team VI after they did not feature for them in the qualifiers.

All these players were at the US embassy in connection with visas for the training camp, which begins on June 29 in Atlanta.

Shehu Abdullahi, Stanley Amuzie, Musa Mohammed and Godwin Saviour are also slated for the training camp after they played in the qualifiers for the U23 AFCON.

Add these to two designated overaged stars, Chelsea star Mikel Obi and Watford striker Odion Ighalo, and already you have wholesale changes to the team Siasia lined up to win the U23 AFCON in Senegal in December.
