Aone-time South-East Zonal Secretary of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), Chief Melville Ebo has advised those calling for the restructuring of the country not to stampede President Muhammadu Buhari into taking “rash decisions”.

Ebo, who gave the advice in an interview with newsmen in Abuja, said Buhari met a lot of issues on ground and that what he needs at the moment is support in other to provide the country with the needed leadership.

He said if not for the anticorruption efforts of President Buhari, impunity in business, politics, education and social life, would have destroyed the country.

According to him, while discussions on the future of Nigeria were desirable, the proponents of restructuring must not distract the President from other serious issues.

Ebo, who was an ally of late ex-Senate President, Dr. Chuba Okadigbo, insisted that Nigerians will be losers if the country disintegrates.

He further advised Biafra agitators to retreat for what he called, introspection on the progress the Igbos had made since the civil war.

He maintained that the Igbos would do better if Nigeria survives as one united entity, as according to him, the country’s large size translates into large market for businesses.

Ebo, who noted that the North had been allies of the Igbos, advised politicians from the North and the South-east to work together to move the country forward.
