Corruption is a thing of the mind and not necessaril­y because of poor remunerati­on. If it were as a result of poor remunerati­on, what about those who are well paid and yet engage in looting of public funds? For example, governors and the likes are well paid yet steal public fund, is it because of poor remunerati­on that they do that? I know of professors who despite their huge salary collect bribes and there are Graduate Assistants who in spite of their meagre pay will never collect bribe. Civil servants steal because the money is there. They also steal because they know they can get away with it. But thank God for President Buhari and the TSA, things will change now. Ibrahim Ismaila
