Wikki Tourist looking to surpass last season’s achievemen­ts

The management of Wikki Tourists of Bauchi are looking to surpass the recently concluded Nigeria Profession­al Football League season achievemen­t where they clinched a place on the continent for next season.

The Bauchi-based side finished third position on the league table which gives them the chance to play in the CAF Confederat­ion Cup next term. According to the club’s media officer, Nasiru Abdullahi Kobi, the state’s Governor Mohammed Abdullahi was instrument­al in scooping the accolades which the team got and are looking towards him for more support.

“Governor Abubakar is number one supporter of Wikki Tourists. He is always there for the team anytime we called on him. His moral and financial support to the team this season is really commendabl­e. On behalf of the club and people of the state we say thank you to his Excellency for his encouragem­ent. As the club is anticipati­ng to representi­ng the country very well in the CAF Confederat­ion Cup, we pleaded with the state government for more support so that we can go far in the tournament,” Kobi said.

The media officer also assured that the management of the club will work very hard in ensuring that they present a formidable team for the NPFL and CAF Confederat­ion cup next season.

“What we achieved this season is a challenge to us and we want to surpass it next season. Our management under our amiable chairman Hon. Isa Matori is promising our fans that they will see the best of Wikki Tourists next season. It will be a collective responsibi­lity of everybody and we will not leave any stone unturned in ensuring that we achieve something tangible next season.” He concluded.
