Iwobi enjoying his ‘winning feeling’ at the moment
Super Eagles and Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi says he’s enjoying his times on the pitch at the moment considering the fact that his North London club and Nigeria’s senior national team are going through winning spells at the moment.
The 20 year old took to twitter ahead of today’s derby between Arsenal and Tottenham at the Emirates where he also posted a picture of himself and club teammates playing around.
Arsenal have now gone 14 games without a loss since their English Premier League opening day 4-3 loss to Liverpool while Nigeria have also won two in two since German tactician Gernot Rohr took over as Technical Adviser two months ago.
“That amazing feeling? That winning feeling.” The player who is being tipped as one of the next big things in global football wrote on social media.
Meanwhile, it has emerged that Eagles will not name a replacement for defender Tyronne Ebuehi who has announced he will not be available for this week’s World Cup qualifier against Algeria in Uyo.
The ADO Den Haag right fullback has opted out of the clash with the Desert Foxes so as to focus on his club career.
A top official informed africanfootball.com: “Ebuehi was the 24thname on the squad list because he was still discussing with Coach Gernot Rohr the possibility of playing for Nigeria.
“And so when he dropped out, there was no need for a replacement because the coach had planned a 23-man squad in the first instance.” The official said.
