Belgium favourites against Estonia in WC qualifier

-

This evening this weekend in Group H of the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers we see Ragnar Klavan take his Estonia side on the trip to Stade Roi Baudouin in Brussels to face Roberto Martinez’s Belgium. This one is expected to be a fairly comfortable home victory.

The home side Belgium head into the visit of Estonia seeing this match as the perfect opportunity to rest a few of their main players and give a run out to some of their fringe players and youngsters in what should be a routine win. Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini, AS Roma’s Radja Nainggolan and West Bromwich Albion’s Nacer Chadli have all been left out of the squad for this fixture. This Belgian side is looking the strongest its ever been recently with it being packed to the rafters with world class talent, and you should fully expect them to win a major tournament in the not so distance future. Their squad is that strong in fact, Roberto Martinez has said that even Kevin De Bruyne who is having the best season of his career is going to find a tough to get a place in his side.

They currently find themselves sat top of Group C along with Greece who are the only two sides that have won all three of their qualifying fixtures, which they have done without conceding a single goal. Their opening fixture saw them travel to Neo GSP Stadium in Nicosia to face Pambos Christodoulou’s Cyprus. A brace from Everton’s Romelu Lukaku and one from Yannick Carrasco saw them come away with a comfortable 3-0 victory. Their second group match was a home tie with Mehmed Baždarević’s Bonsnia and Herzegovina, goals from Eden Hazard, Toby Alderweireld and Romelu Lukaku along with an own goal gave them a 4-0 win.

Their most recent game saw them travel to Estadio Algarve in Faro to face Jeff Wood’s Gibraltar side who had lost both of their group games before this one. The visitors stamped their authority immediately when

The away side Estonia go into the trip to Belgium knowing that it’s going to take nothing short of a miracle for them to take even a point from this fixture. They currently find themselves sat in 4th place in the table after 1 win and 2 defeats from their opening three group games, both Cyrpus and Gibraltar are below them as they haven’t managed to pick up a single point as of yet.
