Capital Science Academy’s fair targets students’ innovation
The Capital Science Academy, Kuje, yesterday, rounded off its yearly Science, Technology, Engineer, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) Fair for primary and secondary schools within the Federal Capital Territory.
The Fair, which aimed at promoting innovations among school pupils in the territory, was held at the school’s premises.
At the ground finale of the fair, the school’s Principal, Mr. Stephen Robinson, said the Fair was organised to strengthen important areas of skills development to enable them keep up with the changes in the modern world.
He said the Fair enabled the students to embark on various projects aimed at solving problems in their various disciplines and commended the organisers for a job well done.
Earlier, the Coordinator of the Fair and Head of the school’s Senior Secondary School, Mr. Kevin Okoduwa, said the Fair was the 8th edition and was targeted at students’ optimal development and as well expose them to the outside world.
He said the school, being a science based, was committed to promoting innovations not only by its students but all those in its environs.
This year’s edition had as its theme the Nation’s Economic Recession: A call for Diversification through Science, Technology, Engineer, Art and Mathematics (STEAM).
At the end of the competition, Capital Science Academy emerged first, Government Science Technical College, second, Government Girls Secondary School, Kuje, third and Olumawu College, Abuja, fourth.
