The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has pledged his administra­tion’s support to any cultural festival seeking to unite ‘Kogites’ and improve the state’s economic advancemen­t. A statement made available Daily Trust said the governor to made the pledge recently at Luguard House, Lokoja when he received the executive foundation members of Ohueje Ohinoyi, a cultural body from Kogi Central district who were on a courtesy visit.

Gov. Bello, while speaking to the group who had told him of their proposed week-long cultural festival, described the project as good and capable of fostering unity among the people of Kogi central district,

According to the release, he said the endorsemen­t by the paramount ruler of Kogi Central, Alh. Ado Ibrahim underscore­s the pivotal role the cultural festival could play in fostering unity and improving cultural rating of the region.

The governor said the hall of fame exhibition proposed by members as integral part of the festival could change the orientatio­n of lots of people, especially the restive youths, to begin to think and act positively.

The Coordinato­r/ Chairman of the group, Mallam Sheidu Tijani, has earlier said the festival was designed to cement the fractured unity of Kogi Central zone as well as enhance economic potential of Ebira district using its rich culture as veritable platform.

Secretary of the group, Mr. Onuvaye Solomon said the group appreciate­d the magnanimit­y of the governor’s wife, Her Excellency , Hajiya Rashidat Bello for her interest and commitment towards a successful hosting of the event.
