Moses glad to put club frustrations behind him

- By Mansur Abubakar

Super Eagles forward Victor Moses say he’s glad to have finally settled down at parent club Chelsea after several loan stints in the last couple of seasons which made him frustrated. The current English Premier League player of the month revealed it wasn’t easy always moving around with his family, staying in hotels for most of the time and having to start all over again by returning to London at the end of every season.

“You spend about a monthplus in the hotel before you find your own place to stay – stuff there kind of plays in your head, and obviously the kids have to go to another place, go to school,” he says. “I’ve not actually had time to relax. When the season finishes, you have to move back to London again, and those kind of things play in a footballer’s head.” Moses told sport-magazine.co.uk.

Chelsea are set to open contract talks with Moses in a couple of days after reports suggested Barcelona were interested in the versatile winger following his immense contributions to his London club this season.

Moses has flourished in a new wing-back role in Chelsea’s successful 3-4-3 formation which has seen the Blues climb to the top of the Premier League.

The 2013 African Cup of Nations winner, who is under contract until the summer of 2019 is expected to be in the starting line up when the Blues clashes with West Brom today.

According to Sky Sports Moses’ performances have persuaded Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo to offer an extended, improved contract.

The deal will reportedly be offered to acknowledge his importance at Chelsea but also to ward off any potential interest from Barcelona.
