Belly fat accumulate­s around the midsection and it is a major concern for many ladies and some men... too. Belly fat makes one so unattracti­ve and it also increases the risk of high blood pressure, diabetes and fatty liver diseases. These are a few foods to help reduce belly fat.

Watermelon: This fruit contains 91 percent of water and when you eat it, it fills you up without adding a substantia­l amount of calories to your meal. It keeps you feeling full longer and also fights water retention.

Almond: Is a polyunsatu­rated and monounsatu­rated fats, it contains a good amount of healthy fat. Eating almonds suppresses hunger because the fat in it reduces over eating, and help in fighting against heart diseases. The high fiber content in almonds keeps you feeling full for a longer time.

Beans: Different types of beans help reduce body fat, develop muscles and improve the digestion process. Beans also help you feel full for longer time, thus keeping you from over eating. It happens that beans is an excellent source of soluble fiber. This fiber targets belly fat, helps to break down the fat and thereby eliminatin­g it from the body. Beans also contains protein, for energy.

Tomatoes: A large tomato has 33 calories, contains a compound known as 9- oxo-ODA and reduces lipids in the blood, which in turn helps control belly fat. This compound also fights chronic diseases associated with obesity. Tomato has additional health benefits like reducing wrinkles, fighting cancer and reducing cholestero­l levels. It’s an excellent source of nutrients like iron, potassium and is rich in vitamins A and C. Include tomato both raw and cooked in your daily diet to enjoy a healthy body.

Celery: To achieve a flat tummy, fill your plate with green leafy like celery.It’s extremely low in calories, full of fiber, and contains calcium and vitamin C that helps in weight loss. Drink half a glass of celery juice before eating lunch or dinner to help cleanse your system. Add it to salad or soup. Additional benefit of celery is that it contains apigenin, a natural compound that reduces the risk of ovarian cancer in women.
