ONLINE Ile-Ife violence: The inside story

- Yahya Ahmed Jauro Sadiq Akhigbe Godons Abu Joseph Sanusi Bashir Tony Amos Ibrahim Suleiman

Why are surprised when citizens of this country are attacked in other countries like South Africa, when a little dispute can snowball into the kind of crisis that we witnessed in Ile-Ife? This is not the first time such a thing is happening in this country and we need to come together and change the trend. Attacks and counter-attacks are not good for the country. we

The Ile-Ife crisis is quite unfortunate. All those beating the drums of war should note that other ethnic groups live here and have businesses here. It is important for us to strive to live in peace with one another.

I condemn the killings and destruction of lives and property and I urge the authorities to rise to the challenge and ensure that crises are nipped in the bud before they escalate.

Every right thinking Nigerian must condemn this dastardly act. I also urge government to investigate the killings going on in other parts of the country.

What is wrong is wrong and must be condemned. It doesn’t matter what caused it, there was no reason for the crisis to have escalated as it did.

Please, urgent steps should be taken to reconcile the groups. There was no need for the crisis.

It does not matter the groups involved. We must condemn killings in our country in whatever coloration, be it ethnic or religious. If we don’t preach peace, who will?

These killings must be seriously condemned. People shouldn’t be quick to take up arms against one another. It is not good for the country.
