Literature in Northern Nigeria Conference to hold in Abuja

The 11th Literature in Northern Nigeria conference has been slated to hold August 28-31 at the National Open University, Jabi, Abuja, according to the organisers.

The conference, which in the past has been jointly organized by the Kwara State University, Malete and the Bayero Unviersity, Kano will have the theme: “Literature and Contempora­ry Developmen­ts in Northern Nigeria” and will include subthemes such as: ‘Emerging Trends in Northern Nigerian Short Stories’, ‘Poetry and Contempora­ry Developmen­ts in Northern Nigerian Literature’, ‘Orality and Modernism in Northern Nigerian Literature’, ‘Children’s Literature in Contempora­ry Northern Nigeria’, ‘New Voices in Northern Nigerian Literature’, ‘Non-Fiction in contempora­ry Northern Nigeria’, ‘Theatre and Performing Arts in contempora­ry Northern Nigeria,’ ‘Literature and Social Media in Northern Nigeria,’ ‘Contempora­ry New Readings of Literature in Northern Nigeria,’ ‘Indigenous Languages and Contempora­ry Literature in Northern Nigeria.

Accordingl­y, the organisers have called for abstracts on the above themes which are to be submitted before Sunday April 30th.

Last year’s conference held at Malete, Kwara State.
