We must save LGs from middlemen – Dogara

The local government is the worst tier of government in Nigeria. They can’t pay their members of staff, and there are many irregulari­ties going on there. Keep it up, Dogara; no going back on local government autonomy.

If you achieve autonomy for local government­s you would set an unpreceden­ted record. Dogara, we need action to actualise this. Please, do something before it is too late. Also, save workers from middlemen.

Practise what you preach. There was a time President Muhammadu Buhari promised to cancel joint accounts, but unfortunat­ely, he has not been able to do it.

It’s just unfortunat­e that some of those middlemen are your neigbhours in the National Assembly. They also determine what happens in our local government areas.

That’s a very good move. If you save local government­s from the middlemen you would be named man of the year.

First, the Federal Government must allow states to manage their resources and send certain percentage to her, just as states should allow local government­s to manage theirs.
