Rohr visits Agege stadium on scouting mission

-

It has been confirmed that Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr will be at the Agege Township Stadium on a scouting mission this afternoon.

The German tactician witnessed the Nigeria National League clash between AS Racine and Warri Wolves on Wednesday and has promised to attend the NPFL encounter between Mountain of Fire FC and El-Kanemi Warriors which is taking place today.

While Rohr is keeping his targets close to his chest, sources close to the Olukoya Boys have informed this allnigeriasoccer. com that the ex-Bayern Munich defender will be keeping close tabs on Stephen Odey, Onuwa Chukwuka and Sikiru Olatunbosun .

El-Kanemi Warriors leading scorer Samuel Mathias will also come under the spotlight.

The former Burkina boss and his lieutenants want to build a strong CHAN team ahead of the qualifiers, and said he wants to see first-hand what the aforementioned players he has been hearing about have to offer.

Meanwhile, Desert Warriors goalkeeper George Michael says the players shouldn’t put themselves under pressure just because Rohr will be around; saying playing as they are used to will bring out the best in them.

“I don’t think the presence of Super Eagles coach should put any player under pressure,” Michael said.

“The most important thing is to play your game, don’t try to impress and focus on helping your team. It’s good the national coach is going around seeing league matches himself, that’s encouraging.

On the chances the Desert Warriors stand against the Lagos side, Michael said: “As for the match against MFM, we’ve and seen so much about them but we won’t be overwhelmed, we shall go into this match with that motive to win.

“A win will be very good but a point won’t be bad either. That’s our focus ahead of the match,” he concluded.
