The Nasarawa State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Bamaiyi Anangba has said maximum security was provided at the Nigeria Polytechnic Games Association (NIPOGA) Games in the state.
Anangba made the assertion while addressing newsmen yesterday in Nasarawa at the closing of the 19th edition of the Games at the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa.
According to him, the commitment of the state government in providing adequate security for participants from across the country had been a top priority to ensure a hitch-free and successful Games.
“I want to say today is a glorious day for Nasarawa State Government concerning this very important occasion.
“You can see the maximum commitment of the government from the very beginning to the end in ensuring the Games were successful.
“We discussed in the state that adequate security must be provided for all the participants and as I am talking to you, we have not heard of any security breach or incident,” he said.
Anangba said that apart from the issue of security, the government showed exceptional interest in the Games by following every activity from day to day.
“Apart from that, from the opening ceremony, you can see the high-powered delegation from the state government just to ensure that all that is necessary is provided for a successful hosting”, he said.
He then, expressed confidence in the potential of NIPOGA and Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) Games to churn out future champions and successful athletes that would make the nation proud.
