Champions of faith

- Hebrews 11:1-3 “1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2For by it the elders OBTAINED A GOOD REPORT. 3Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were

You will begin to have GOOD REPORTS from now on in Jesus’ name. Good things will begin to show up in your life from now on in Jesus’ name! The faith of champions is well documented in the bible. They were ORDINARY PEOPLE with EXTRAORDINARY RESULTS. They were not champions because they were super human but because they knew how to tap into the power of God. FAITH IS THE POWER OF GOD IN ACTION. Gideon started as weak but ended a hero. Daniel started at the bottom as a captive in a foreign land but ended at the top as a vice-president. David started as a ‘NOBODY’ but ended up as a mighty and successful king. Esther began as a slave girl but became the queen of the most powerful king of the most powerful kingdom at the time. Joseph was a victim of all sorts of childhood and household conspiracies but became one of the most powerful, talked-about, preached-about and celebrated men in history. Welcome to the rank of champions!

Faith enables us to operate in the class of God where nothing is impossible.

Champions of faith win not because they don’t have problems but because they have faith.

Faith is a must if you must win and live the kind of life you dream of. Faith is the answer if you want to produce proof in your life. It is only through faith that you can take control over the challenges that subdue mankind and hold him down in slavery. Faith makes the impossible possible. God designed faith to bring colour and dignity into your life. Faith crowns you with joy and peace. Faith colours your life in bright colours and puts you on display.

Faith is the answer to every form of lack man will ever experience. It was faith that made the poor widow to defeat hunger and starvation by sowing her last meal into the life of the prophet according to the Word of God. Faith made Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebecca as well as Hannah, WIN OVER BARRENNESS in spectacular fashion. Faith changed the story of the woman with the issue of blood. Faith is the vehicle that conveys you from the ZONE OF SHAME and DISGRACE to the place of HONOUR AND DIGNITY.

What is faith?

It is believing and acting on a specific word God gives to you in a specific situation. It is not just taking a passage from the Bible and acting on it; you must be sure that it is what God is saying at that time. This is called the ‘Rhema’ word of God.

7 Characteristics of champions of faith

1. They recognize that there are no impossibilities with God and so trust Him completely. They recognize that their God has no limitations whatsoever. Remember Caleb and Joshua. They do not consider the magnitude of their circumstances but the power of their God. They do not compare their problems and challenges with themselves but with their God. While 10 out of the 12 spies sent by Moses saw themselves as ‘GRASSHOPPERS’ compared to the giants in the Promised Land, Joshua and Caleb saw them as ‘BREAD’. They were the only ones that survived into the Promised Land.

2. They do what is right regardless of the consequences. David ran towards Goliath. Daniel refused to pray to any other God and faced the lions den. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused to worship the image of King Nebuchadnezzar at the risk of being thrown into the fiery furnace. God pulled them out alive! Champions of faith ask, “What’s the worst thing that can happen?” And then conclude that even that won’t move them. Esther said, the worst thing that can happen is that I perish, but I am going anyway. If I perish I perish! Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were prepared for the worst. They came out alive. Champions of faith do what is REQUIRED, not what is CONVENIENT. And they always receive what they DESIRE. Champions of faith pay the price no matter what it is. Don’t be intimidated by the enemy. From now on, make up your mind to do what is right regardless of the consequences.

3. They Ask the Lord for divine guidance. “Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God…” Champions of faith thrive on divine wisdom and instruction. And divine wisdom comes from divine revelation. Nearly everyone asks questions when they are in distress but most people ask the wrong questions and worst still, they direct their questions to the wrong quarters. Champions of faith don’t ask God why he has abandoned them. Champions of faith ask God what to do. They know that God has a way out of their situation. They know that if God allowed that situation, he would lead them out of it. They know he is faithful and will make a way for them to escape that situation. I have faced many challenges and God has shown me the way out of all of them because I trusted him and asked him to show me the way out. James 1:5. They depend on the Word of God for information and not on their circumstances. They tap into the limitless and UNFATHOMABLE WISDOM of God. God knows and sees all things. Ask and it shall be given to you. David was a master at seeking for God’s direction. He won all his battles and came out on top even with the whole army of Israel in hot pursuit. The Bible says in Proverbs 3:5-6, “5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Champions of faith do no rely on their feelings but on the opinion of God. They succeed because they tap into the limitless knowledge of a limitless God.
