Milk bath magic

- By UCHE EZE

It’s no news that milk is good for the bones, but did you know it has many beauty benefits as well? Mixing milk with other ingredients like scented bathwater and baking soda has been done for centuries as therapy to moisturise and soften the skin. Milk is rich in vitamins and minerals which helps slow the process of ageing and retains skin elasticity. The natural lactic acid found in milk is alpha-hydroxy-acid. This type of acid gently dissolves proteins to exfoliate dead skin cells for fresh and younger skin. Milk baths have become popular in recent times. Most spas and beauty places now offer this beauty treatment, but you don’t have to spend a lot of money at a fancy spa to enjoy the benefits of milk. The milk bath recipe is quick, easy and pocket friendly.

Ingredients

2 cups of whole powdered milk 1/2 cup of baking soda (skin softener) Any essential oil

Directions

Combine the powdered milk and baking soda in a large container. Shake the jar until the powders are completely mixed.
