Veteran artist, Prof. Bruce Onobrakpeya, alongside Kolade Oshinowo and Lekan Onabanjo will be the guest artist participating at The Content - Harmattan Edition, a new art exhibition opening on October 15 at the Adam & Eve, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.

At a briefing in Lagos, Chief Executive Officer of Adam&Eve, Mrs Modupe Ogunlesi said the trio of Onobrakpeya, Oshinowo and Onabanjo has succeeded in using their works to expand art appreciation in Nigeria and as such possess enormous resources the younger Nigerian artists can be tapped from.

According to Ogunlesi, The Content - Harmattan Edition was designed to mark two decades of Adam&Eve enterprise which underscores the resilience of creative, entrepreneurial skill involved in managing such a vast business. She said the exhibition is thus conceived to create a fresh spot for new art enthusiasts and energised creativity beyond the regular art landscapes of the Lagos city.

Among other things, the exhibition will be featuring the works of the main artists: Francis Uduh, Juliet Ezenwa, Damola Adepoju, Emmanuel Stanley Dudu, Ibe Ananaba, Josh Nmesirionye and Olumide Oresegun.

“The exhibition respects the season’s mood by sustaining the venue’s yearly event Festival of Carol. But this time we want to have six lessons, in shorter form for the Carol, which starts on November 12, 2017, as it flags off our Christmas activities. Instead of ‘A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carol’ as in years past, we plan an adaptation of the shorter version ‘Carols from Kings’ to give more time to mingle,” Ogunlesi said.

The Chief Executive Officer of Adam&Eve further explained the need to give ‘The Content’ a generic name, necessitating the idea of calling it ‘the Harmattan Edition’ rather than placing it in numerical series. She added that in organising Festival of Carol, the Nollywood actress, Joke Silva has been slated to read poetry for performance of the day.
