The state government has however expressed its determination and commitment towards providing conducive working environment for workers.

The Director-General, Kogi State Bureau of Information Services and Grassroots Sensitisation, Mr Abdulmalik Abdulkarim, said the governor has already given an approval for the construction of a befitting office.

He said that the governor who paid an unscheduled visit to the newspaper outfit recently expressed displeasure with what he saw and pledged to give the place a facelift.

The Director-General said the proposed office complex will have well-equipped standard news room, conference hall and offices for management staff amongst others.

Mr Abdulmalik said that in a bid to open new frontiers for the newspaper, plans were on to open offices in Lagos, Kano, Kaduna and Abuja as well as deploy correspondents to those states for coverage.
