Kogi Assembly Speaker urges aggrieved APC members to sheathe swords

- From Itodo Daniel Sule, Lokoja

The Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Mr Matthew Kolawole, has called on aggrieved stakeholders of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to sheathe their swords and embrace reconciliation.

The Speaker, who made the call during an interactive session with journalists in Lokoja, said it was not reasonable for those who struggled to build the party in the state to at the same time struggle to destroy it on accounts of some differences.

He said that there was need for some of the aggrieved stakeholders to “come down from their high horses” and embrace the overtures being made towards them in the interest of unity and progress of the party in the state.

“To me, the reconciliation is still very much on. There was the one that happened last week in Abuja. I am confident that everything will be resolved at the end of the day.

“What I know in politics is that a man that does not benefit will continue to criticise. Today, I want to appeal to our APC brothers who are still aggrieved to come and join hands with the governor to move the state forward.

“Those who built this party should come together in the interest of the development of this state. I believe we will definitely resolve. I see us coming back stronger as one family. I don’t see the APC losing Kogi State”, he said.
