No Arsenal move for Bordeaux’s Malcom

-

Arsenal have been dealt a huge blow as Bordeaux will not sell Malcom this month.

The Brazilian attacker and his representatives held talks with the Gunners about a potential big money move this window.

However, SunSport have been told Bordeaux top brass have made it clear to Arsenal and a host of clubs the 20-year-old will remain in France until the summer.

Bordeaux have just sacked manager Jocelyn Gourvennec after a disastrous run of two wins in their last 13 games and are battling to stay in Ligue 1.

Spurs have also made contact with the French side about his availability as Mauricio Pochettino looks to add to his attcking options.

The French club are adamant they were not prepared to sell their prized asset for less than their £40million valuation.

They are resigned to losing him in the summer and have already begun the process of landing his replacement.

But SunSport understands Bordeaux are confident Malcom’s value could increase if he makes the Brazil squad for the World Cup.

Malcom has impressed since moving to France in January 2016 from Corinthians.

His seven goals in 18 league games have put some of Europe’s elite clubs on red alert, but he will be told to play his part for the new boss as they fight to stay in the French top flight.
