The organizers of the prestigious Lagos International Polo have promised that the 2018 edition of the glamorous fiesta will make the former nation’s capital city come alive, as the best players in the game within and outside the country have promised to grace the competition.

The tournament, well known for its exciting atmosphere and relaxed setting, is scheduled to gallop off from February 14, 2018 through to the last week of February in the city.

The Lagos polo chieftain, Rotimi Makanjuola who dropped this hint in an exclusive chat with Polo Royals, stated that arrangements were in top gear to ensure that the event will linger for long in the memories of all participants, invited guests and enthusiasts of the king of games. “We would have a team featuring players as young as 13 years in this edition, as a result of the club’s many efforts to increase the awareness for the game among younger people and it’s going to be a full house this year, as teams from major polo centres across the country have confirmed their participation”, he said.

According to the high profile Lagos polo patron, twenty teams coming from Kano, Kaduna, Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Ibadan have confirmed participation as the best players and patrons in the country set their sights on Lagos.

As at the last count, over ten heavily fortified visiting teams are invading the foremost Ribadu Road polo ground for the event, just as host Lagos is throwing in as many as twelve teams into what promises to be the fiercely contest of the tournament.

Makanjuela who led Lagos Centaurs quest for the biggest prize of the event, the legendary Majekodunmi Cup, said other major prize at stake would include, the Open Cup, Lagos Low Cup and the Silver Cup, as well as a handful of selected prizes and awards.
