Now that PMB has declared intention to run in 2019

Sir, your first term in office has been characterized my many mistakes and victories. To me, your mistakes include weakness and insensitivity to the yearnings of those who voted for you. I and millions of Nigerians who voted you into power expected you to be tough. The first mistake you made was when you declared that ‘you would work with anybody’. That single mistake allowed what happened in the Senate, where former PDP members seized its leadership. Secondly, you rightly or wrongly refused to strengthen your party leadership. Strong party leadership would have checked the excesses of members. Thirdly, many APC members invested heavily to see to your victory, but they were not compensated. It is normal for people to face hardship when the easy money which they used to get during the PDP administration stopped coming, but you could have listened to the cries of the masses and tried to cushion their suffering. There are many ways to cushion the hardship; something which will immediately affect the everyday life of a common man, like cutting down the prices of petrol and power.

Your victories are many. If we take security alone, you must have scored 90 percent. Rice farming, 80 percent and infrastructure, 80 percent.

I foresee a victory for you in 2019. But I want you to be a leader who uses carrot and stick. A president who will capitalize on the immense support of the masses. With the people behind you, you can do anything they expect you to do. I wish you luck.
