How to grow back your eyelashes

- by RAHMA L. ADAMU With additional information from the internet

Do eyelashes grow back? Yes, they do. Just like the hair on your head, eyelashes can be grown back following a natural growth cycle that includes three phases: the anagen, catagen and telogen.

Anagen is the growth phase. This is when your eyelashes are actively growing, lasting about 30 to 45 days. In the catagen phase, the hair growth stops and the hair follicle shrinks. If your eyelashes fall out during this phase, it won’t grow back right away. The telogen phase is the resting phase, which means your hair follicle becomes completely inactive. During this stage, hair begins to fall, and it usually takes more than 100 days to fully replace the lost lashes.

Lashes constantly fall off due to unhealthy food habits, lack of sleep, stress and itching on the eyelids, making it pluck out, and may result in thinning and falling off. And normal growth is hindered.

The length and health of your eyelashes are determined mostly by genetics, but there are certain ways to make them grow. It takes time, efforts and quality products to get longer, fuller and beautiful eyelashes.

You can follow these tips to stimulate the growth of your eyelashes.

• Stop frequent use of mascara and fake lashes, as well as eye beauty products. It is the main reason for the loss of eyelashes. If you cannot avoid them completely, use them on special occasions, and make sure to use them correctly and only the right product.

• Using an eyelash enhancer with safe ingredients can also help you grow back your eyelashes. There are many of these amazing products available in the market. Depending on the extent to your lashes, you can go for prescription treatment.

• Eating healthy and balanced diet is another important way to make your eyelashes grow longer, thicker and stronger. Just like your hair, your lashes need a good supply of vitamins and minerals to grow, so be sure to eat plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit.

As long as the hair follicle has not been seriously damaged, your eyelashes will continue to grow. Remember to talk with your doctor if you notice you are losing more eyelashes than normal.
