BUHARI: WHY I STOPPED ADESINA FROM REPLYING OBASANJO’S LETTER

‘I Retained CBN Gov Emefiele For a Reason’

- By Isaka Wakili

President Muhammadu Buhari said he stopped his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Femi Adesina from replying former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s letter against his administration because of Adesina’s age.

The president explained the reasons when members of the Buhari Support Organisation visited him at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Friday night.

Buhari said the second reason why he did not want to reply the letter was because he and the former president were from the same (military) constituency.

He, however, noted that Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed, who “disobeyed’’ him not to reply the letter, did a good job.

President Muhammadu Buhari will today embark on a two-day visit to the Kingdom of Morocco.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, made this known in a statement yesterday.

He stated: “The visit, which is at the invitation of His Royal Majesty, King Mohammed VI, will see the two leaders discuss socio-economic matters affecting their countries, following prior engagements in December 2016, during the official visit of His Majesty to Nigeria.

“In Rabat, discussions will focus on strengthening existing agreements on the fertilizer industry, education cooperation, the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline project and establishing a basic chemical platform to harness Nigeria’s vast natural gas resources.

“It is noteworthy that following the signing of a collaboration agreement between Nigeria and Morocco in December 2016 to revive the abandoned Nigerian fertilizer blending plants, 14 plants have been revitalized so far under the Presidential Fertilizer Initiative (PFI); with a total capacity of 2.3 million MT of NPK fertilizers.
