- By Isiyaku Muhammed

Foadan FC of Togo midfielder, Fidelis Benjamin has reiterated his desire to don the shirts of the Super Eagles of Nigeria while revealing he has some good offers from Nigerian league clubs.

The all-round midfielder has played for several clubs and academies around Africa such as Kwara football academy, Emmanuel Amuneke Academy, Rabta Kosti FC and Rabta Siner FC both in Sudan, and now Foadan FC of Togo said he has a lot of offers to consider in the Nigerian league as well as in Togo and Sudan.

“You know I have been to Sudan for two seasons, and I also played for good football academies back home and I am now enjoying my time at Foadan FC here in Togo. So I have a lot of offers to consider, but I am yet to decide on my future. This is a very important phase in my career, so I cannot afford to make a wrong move. I am not in a rush because I am still young. The important thing is that I am getting better by the day, and I am happy for my development.

Speaking on his decision to move to Foadan FC despite the alleged poor remuneration and poor organization in the Togolese league, Fidelis said, “For me the most important thing is to keep playing and keep improving. Going to Togo means a new adventure and a new challenge for me, but as a born fighter, I came, I saw and so far so good,” he said.

He added that he wants to try new challenges because he need to improve on his qualities, “In Togo, physicality and strength is more important, and they are left behind in most aspect of football development. But they are improving, and I am enjoying my time. But I will consider all the available offers, and accept what will be best for me and my career either in the Nigeria League or abroad, because I need to move on.” Dubbed as Gucho In his home town of Kaduna, Fidelis said his ultimate dream is to play for Nigeria. “My childhood dream is to play for Nigeria. I want to start with the Flying Eagles, then the Super Eagles, although I know it won’t be easy. I know I can’t jump directly to the Eagles, but with dedication and hard work, I know I’ll make it. That is why you have to continue playing, because you don’t know what will happen and you can’t take chances,” he concludes.
