Group to rally support for Buhari

- By Maureen Onochie

The Buhari Legacies Implementation Initiative (TBLII) is reaching out to all credible politicians that participated in the Second and Third Republic politics, including the remnants of the First Republic across the country as part of efforts to rally support for President Muhammadu Buhari, ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Rising from its stakeholders meeting in Abuja at the weekend, the group’s Director of Media and Publicity, Engr. Bashir Garba Ibrahim, said such politicians largely ignored by the present political dispensation have great concern about Nigeria’s political future.

The group’s national spokesperson said the association, which was founded to ensure the establishment of an environment of trustworthiness, transparency, and honesty in Nigeria, would support credible people to contest various political offices all over the country during the 2019 general elections.

Engr. Ibrahim also said the TBLII was ready to partner patriotic Nigerians and all those who have passion for Nigeria’s political development to help the present administration find a lasting solution to “our artificial insecurity and domestic violence.”

“Presently, our association is among the strongest in Nigeria with a membership of about four million registered members across the country, and with so many intending membership requests. This was part of what we have discussed during our recent visit to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

“It is our determined plan to support only credible people during the 2019 general elections. We need people with sterling qualities akin to those of President Muhammadu Buhari to contest the elections in order to have honest and trustworthy leaders who will work with the President after the 2019 elections,” he said.

The spokesman also said the association which was equally resolved to set up ‘Muhammadu Buhari Center for Good Governance and Leadership’ had begun its activities with leadership lectures and awareness campaign on the successes recorded by the Buhari-led administration.

He said the group also engaged in public awareness all over the country on the need to shun negative propaganda, hate speech, misinformation, and politics of personal gains, saying what Nigerians need at the moment is aggressive national reorientation for patriotism and political stability.

Engr. Ibrahim said the group was proud of President Muhammadu Buhari for his credibility, good governance, respect for democratic processes, and tolerance of critics and respect for the right of the opposition, urging all Nigerians to give the president all the needed support in his effort to rekindle hope in the country.
