-

AChinese-Nigerian coy, “Chinige” Technology Services says their agricultural technologies are designed to empower majority of smallholder farmers in the country.

The company, which showed strong presence at the Agrochemicals and Equipment Expo displayed many small-scale farm equipment for farm operations.

Speaking with Daily Trust at the venue of the agro fiesta, the Marketing Manager of the company, Mr. John Michael said it has become imperative to help smallholder farmers who constitute the larger segment of people active in the sector because of their significant contributions.

According Michael, that important segment is neglected by many agro equipment manufacturers which is why millions of small-holder farmers rely on their traditional method for agricultural activities.

With as low as N390,000, a farmer can own a multipurpose 12-horse power tractor, which the company will help the farmer maintain for at least ten years.

With a little above a million naira, a farmer can own this machine with 11 accessories that handle operations from tilling the soil; seeding/planting, fertilizing to harvest activities, it was gathered.

It’s also designed with blue cryogenic engine that helps it withstand hot weather condition.

Other small scale machines are rice thresher, soya beans sheller, a two-tonne animal feed crusher, rice transplanter, groundnut oil press and more.

Some of the machines are fabricated in the mother company in china while others are made in Nigeria, hence the name “Chi-Nige,” it was gathered.
